Application Process:

To begin your application, please complete the online application form for the desired position at Deft Academy. Each application must be submitted separately for each position of interest. Please note that we do not accept speculative CVs in accordance with Safer Recruitment guidelines.

As part of the application process, you will be required to submit a supporting statement addressing each requirement outlined in the job description. This statement plays a crucial role in determining your candidacy for an interview. We recommend preparing this statement in a separate document before pasting it into the online application. You may save and return to your application later as the information will be automatically saved.

Shortlisting:

Following the closing date for applications, the recruiting manager will compile a shortlist of candidates for interviews. We aim to notify candidates of the outcomes within four weeks of the closing date. If you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted to arrange a suitable time and any necessary requirements will be communicated to you.

Interview:

Your interview at Deft Academy will be competency-based, whether conducted in-person at one of our sites or online via Microsoft Teams. For online interviews, please ensure you have access to Teams and test your video and microphone beforehand.

During the interview, a panel of three individuals, including your potential line manager, will ask questions. One panelist is trained in safer recruitment practices and may inquire about any gaps in your employment history. Our interviews are designed to ensure fairness and equity. Depending on the position, you may also be asked to complete a timed exam or deliver a presentation.

Post-Interview:

Following the interview, the recruiting manager, who will also serve as your line manager at Deft Academy, will contact you as soon as possible with the outcome. If you are not selected, we will provide feedback upon request.

Pre-Employment Screening:

Upon acceptance of our job offer, you will undergo pre-employment checks, which may include an enhanced DBS check, credential verification, and additional checks depending on the role.

Mandatory Pre-Employment Training:

Before commencing employment, you will be required to complete essential training in child safety and safeguarding.

Introduction and Probation:

Upon joining Deft Academy, you will receive a local induction to familiarize yourself with your team and workspace. Additionally, a corporate induction will provide insight into the company and its policies. Most positions have a six-month probationary period, during which you will receive formal and informal support to facilitate your integration.
